
(Northwest Indiana) Roy Vanderford has joined the Center of Workforce Innovations as Director of the Workforce Strategies Team. Considered a leading expert on workforce board development throughout the country, Vanderford has successfully worked in over 35 states to build state, regional, and local strategies to link workforce, economic development, and educational action plans. He has served as CEO of three different boards including Indianapolis, Louisville (KY) and Evansville (IN). Since the late 1970s, he played national leadership and training roles in the workforce development field through affiliations with the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Conference of Mayors, and the National Association of Workforce Boards. Vanderford most recently served as Senior Vice President of Workforce Strategies for Thomas P. Miller & Associates in Indianapolis and prior to that for the Corporation for a Skilled Workforce, based in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Vanderford holds a Masters of Public Affairs from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
